Often we find ourselves suffering from a poverty of time and a significant lack of inspiration. How we deal with our despair depends on our values, upbringing, beliefs and other character-defining factors. Personally, the route I took to overcome the, I wouldn’t quite say emotions but rather temporary despondency, changed with my level of emotional maturity over time. Just like how my views of everything constantly changed as I grew older, so did my means of coping with low-to-no inspiration. I am at the stage where reading and giving due thought to wise words of influential people serves as a perfect antidote.
It is for this reason that I’ve compiled a list of a few (very few – there’s only so much one can ponder about) quotes from interesting people whose words and ideas are worth contemplating.
“A room with no books, is like a body without a soul.”
“The minute I heard my first love story, I started looking for you not knowing how blind that was. Lovers do not finally meet somewhere. They are in each other all along.”
“The only real prison is fear, and the only real freedom is freedom from fear.”
Aung San Suu Kyi
“Exactitude is not truth.”
“Turn your wounds into wisdom.”
“You drown not by falling into a river, but by staying submerged in it.”
If these quotes didn’t stir up some thought, you need to scroll back up and read them again… slowly, this time 😉
