Undisturbed in The Zulu Kingdom

posted in: Photography, Travel | 8

Although I am originally from Kwa-Zulu Natal, I felt like a tourist going back and exploring familiar places from a different view. A part of me felt like I was home, while the other part felt like a tourist. Is this conflict of emotion my punishment for moving to a city I love equally as much?

Either way, my punishment came with an abundance of reward. The calmness of my surroundings lulled a part of me and I become someone I haven’t been for some time – completely relaxed, at ease and full of appreciation for nature! Here are some of my favourite photographs from my travels to Durban and the Dragon Mountain (also known as uKhahlamba in Zulu, meaning ‘The Barrier of Spears’).

The trip had certainly satisfied my hunger for the natural surroundings and the peace it brings.
