MacBook Air

posted in: Lifestyle | 7

I made a promise to myself at age 19 – I am going to own a MacBook Air. My sister got herself one at the time and I fell in love with it – granted, I fell for its aesthetics more than its capability, but I simply HAD to have one. One day.

Five years later, after owning an average Lenovo laptop, a Samsung Netbook (remember those?), a Huawei tablet, a powerful yet too big a desktop, and hijacking my husband’s laptop on a weekly basis, the promise I made was finally honoured.

I got my much-awaited MacBook Air! šŸ™‚

I’ve previously been denied the chance to get one on two occasions, but hey… third time lucky! Enough about my luck (and some times lack of), take a look at this sleek, slender and sophisticated beauty:

photo 1Apple has a distinct way of forging a sense of anticipation and excitement from its innovative packaging and all the way to the 5-minute setup.

photo 2Using a 13″ MacBook Air has been a seamless and integrated experience. I’m very fond of the tiny things that make all the difference (and the big things too)Ā  – personalised settings for the track pad, receiving and replying to iMessages on my MacBook, finally syncing my iPhone… The LED-backlit widescreen display is amazing too. One of the biggest bonuses for me is the weight of the device (approx. 1.4 kg). I love to use my laptop in bed and it’s such a pleasure being able to hold it with just two fingers (I don’t always but it was cool to try out and put its weight into perspective). Oh and as for the battery life, I’ve been charging it no more than only once a week!

It was a small bit of an adjustment not having Word doc on my laptop but as of late I’ve been using Google Drive for everything;Ā  you can never go wrong there šŸ™‚ (unless you have no Internet… which is a legitimate concern in SA, ha).

I’ve been singing its praises for the past month now and recommend it to anyone looking for a quick and easy way to stay online and in touch.

I must confess… I don’t wish I had purchased it sooner as I think I wouldn’t have been able to appreciate what it can do for me entirely.
